    Nigeria advances to AFCON final with penalty win

    In a nail-biting semifinal clash at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, Nigeria clinched a spot in the AFCON final after a tense penalty shootout against South Africa. The Super Eagles emerged victorious with a 4-2 win on penalties following a captivating 1-1 draw that lasted 120 minutes. The semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa unfolded like a scene from a gripping Nollywood thriller, keeping fans on the edge of their seats till the very end at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake.

    In a rollercoaster of emotions, Nigeria seemed destined for victory when Victor Osimhen netted a late goal. However, VAR intervened, awarding South Africa a crucial penalty, leveling the score and sending the match into extra time, adding another layer of drama to an already intense encounter. The tension soared as the match headed into a penalty shootout, where Stanley Nwabali’s remarkable goalkeeping skills shone through.

    Nwabali’s crucial saves secured Nigeria’s 4-2 win on penalties, propelling them into the AFCON final with hopes of claiming their fourth African crown. With their thrilling victory over South Africa, Nigeria now stands on the brink of clinching their fourth AFCON title.
